It also gives easy access to all the nearby islands or you may choose to base yourself out on Seil Island for the week with its beautiful west coast scenery and away fromit all feel. Oban is also the biggest hub on the west coast giving access toall the Inner and Outer Hebrides.

Oban is also well situated for the whitewater kayaking course venue the River Awe. Dam controlled it runs at a great level all summer long from Loch Awe to the sea in Loch Etive. Less than an hours drive are the River Orchy & River Etive.
The new Scottish Sea Kayaking Trail starts only a 1 1/2 hrs to the south of Oban. So its the perfect place to prepare for your trip, get fully outfitted & acclimatized to the joys of Sea Kayaking on the West Coast of Scotland.
