We have been comparing photos taken last year this time with this and as you can see the shop has really filled up over the intervening 12mths and Sea Kayak Oban is indeed part of the best Sea Kayaking Centre in the UK. Now new in stock Northshore Atlantic RM ie the plastic one and a whole host of Mountain Hardware with the Sea Kayaker especially in mind. We are still working hard to increase our stock and have just got an account with Standard Horizon who make waterproof handheld radios. We are the only stockist of Standard Horizon on the West Coast of Scotland.

National Kayak School has new sea kayaking holidays on the idyllic Hebridean Islands of Colonsay & Coll to join its already successful sea kayaking island tours on Gigha & Mull. The two new tours Sea Kayaking on two of Scotlands lesser known islands are proving very popular especially for their bountiful wildlife. The singing Atlantic seals and very close up and personal Basking sharks have been greatly received by the clients.

This week we have succumbed to demand and are now stocking Werner’s Carbon Cranks Sea Kayaking Paddles at the very top of the range. But we are not abandoning any of the other brands.

We have on order the Ainsworth carbon crank shafted paddles with glass or foam core blades starting an excellent deal at £135. (I personally use these a lot. Also new in the TNP Rapa for you white water paddlers with a choice of glass or carbon/kevlar shafts at £65 or £99 respectively.

New orders from Peak, Kokotat, Northshore, Perception, Wavesport, Necky & Wilderness Systems on the way.

Great Sea Kayaking at the Moment & Looking Good for Easter Period

There have been many excellent days on the water in the last month and with the sharp rise in temperatures its getting even better. We have run many very successful Sea Kayaking Introductory courses and there is still space on the various courses programmed over the Easter period including our new 1 or 2 day Sea Kayaking Safety Course and the 1 day white water kayaking in inflateables on the river Awe.
Great deals for people coming on courses “book for 2 or more days and get 10% discount off all kayaking gear (except Kayaks) in the shop. Plus lots of excellent deals for everyone.
It was forecast for 30mph today and we still found sheltered water for people to have a great time , as usual. So come learn to kayak with the National kayak school in Oban.
