Sea Kayak Demo Days in Inverness and Aberdeen
Monday, February 21st, 2011We are really looking forward to taking a trailer load of Sea Kayaks to Demo in Stonehaven, near Aberdeen on Sunday 13th March and in Rosemarkie near Inverness on Sunday 20th March.
We will be taking a large selection of Sea Kayaks that we have for sale in Sea Kayak Oban including Valley, Northshore, Necky, Wilderness Systems, Tiderace & Perception. If there are specific models you would like to demo please contact us in advance. We will have a few kayaks for sale on the day but space on the trailer is limited.
We expect to be in place by 10.30am and will be there until 5pm at least. PLease check here the day before in case of changes to the venue due to adverse weather forecasts.
Please bring your own clothing, paddle etc we will have some spraydecks plus demo paddles including some great wing paddles. We will also have some bouyancy aids, paddles, and clothing for sale. If there is something in particular please ask in advance. The on line shop should be up and running soon.

Friday, February 11th, 2011This is the first brand new Valley Sea Kayak design for a number of years and it really does live up to expectation. Will it blow the opposition out of the water. Well that’s up to you to decide but you have the opportunity from now on. So come and demo the Valley Etain in Sea Kayak Oban.
Also on the trailer from our last trip to Valley were more Northshore Atlantic RMs, the full range of Valley Avocets includeing the composite , the Avocet RM and the Avocet LV. We also have demo Nordkapp Composite and Composite Nordkapp LV.

Have you ever tried a lightweight racing sea kayak? You will be suprised how stable they are !
Have you tried Sea kayaking with Wing Paddles. Despite the scare stories most people find them very easy to use and very smooth through the water and encouraging good forward paddling style.
Failing all that its just nice to get out sea kayaking so if you happen to be in Oban and would like to be on the water come and visit. The photos below were taken this week when our choice of sea kayaks were the Wilderness systems Tempest 170 and the Necky Eliza both composite. Next week we will be trying the Valley Sea Kayaks Avocet LV and the Necky Chatham 18 . The following week we Demo the new Valley Etain in both composite and plastic and the Necky Chatham 17. Sunday, December 5th, 2010We are looking for Sea Kayaking Instructors, Guides, Coaches to work for both www.SeaKayakOban.com and for www.nationalkayakschool.com starting late March 2011 or April 2011 out of our base in Oban. You will be joining a very competent team of motivated staff who both excell as coaches and in leading small groups on the sea and on the rivers. Check out the National Kayak School website to see the variety of work available. Its simple the better you are the greater the variety of work.
This does involve some overnight wild camping and you do need to have your own vehicle with a tow bar and roof rack . It is well paid and you get to go to places that others just dream of but its long hours with lots of responsibility. Most of the work is with adults or families not with groups of youngsters. Please in the first instance send detailed CV including previous paddling work and also personal paddling experience. Usually we have to ask for more details of your personal kayaking experience so it would be great if you would provide this in the first instance.

Monday, November 22nd, 2010We are driving south Sunday evening to collect more Northshore Kayaks if you contact us NOW!!! we will pick one up for you at this years price. Dont put it off until tuesday it may be too late.!!!
Unfortunately its the time of year for prices to increase. Already Wilderness Systems kayaks have increased by about 10% or £100. Current stock will be sold at this years price.
Northshore Kayaks are increasing by a similar amount from 23rd Dec. If we can collect before then we get at this years price so order now to save £125 on a composite Atlantic.
Many of the suppliers dont increase prices until after we have ordered so we cant be sure at this time of year, but what we tell you we commit to even if we make very little.
