Demo Boats
We very strongly believe that you should have the right boat for you taking into account
how much you have to spend,
what size you are ,
what you want to do with your kayak and of course
what type of paddler you are and inevitably there will be personal preferences.
During the winter and spring we are on the road quite a bit with Demo days Rosemarkie near Inverness Sunday 13th Nov 10.30am, Stonehaven Harbour south of Aberdeen 10am Sunday 27th November , Edinburgh, Fife, Gourock. Our Demos are usually run by a very experienced level 5 coach and we turn up with a huge range of sea kayaks. If there is a particular sea kayak you would like to demo from our range we will do our best to make sure we bring it along. email us info@seakayakoban.com
So we are providing lots of sea kayaks for you to demo. An hour or so demo from the shop is free. If you want to take something out for a half day or a day there is a rental charge which is of course deducted when you purchase a kayak.
It is worth while contacting us in advance to make sure we have what you want available. Generally we have every sea kayak for sale in the shop as a demo plus usually quite a few more.
We often bring in sea kayaks to test from all over the world just to make sure we have the very best available for you so if you want to be the first keep an eye out for the very latest.

Valley Sea Kayaks.
In now the superb Valley Nordkapp LV & the Valley Avocet LV as well as the standard size Nordkapp and Avocet all composite and the Brand New Valley Etain 17.7 and the smaller Etain 17.5 in Composite and plastic. Also available in plastic Valley Aquanaut HV, Avocet and Storm surf kayak.
Wilderness Systems
Tempest 165 & Tempest 170, Zephir 15.5 & Zephir 16 in plastic
NOW available the Tempest 165 & 170 in composite These are the lightest weight full on sea kayaks that we stock coming in at 21kg so not advised for dragging over the beach and bouncing off rocks but they are easily manageable for getting on and off your car and on to the water and also reknowned for their comfort. They are great for the less gnarly paddler who value their portability.

Kayakpro Racing / fitness kayaks
These lightweight composite kayaks are perfect for both racing eg sea kayak racing or adventure racing and also for fitness training and touring. They are incredibly smooth through the water and very light to carry so for the person that wants to be able to pick up their kayak and dash down to enjoy the sunset these are excellent. They are very stable and have an easy to manage rudder system making them perfect for the unindoctrinated.
The Kayakpro Namu in 3 sizes is only £1600 while the longer Kayakpro Marlin & Kayakpro Nemo are great for those out for longer distances & more speed (only available in racing spec carbon/kevlar)
