Full-time Shop Sales person
We are a specialist sea kayak shop and sea kayak school located in the town centre of Oban.
It’s a great place to be and every week we meet scores of really nice people who want to talk about their hobby or who want to take up sea kayaking.
We are looking for a sea kayaker to work full-time in the shop and to help us with the sea kayak school bookings and rentals from 1st March 2012 at the earliest.
Our opening hours vary and our busiest periods are during the spring, summer and autumn holidays. We are often open 7 days a week during busy periods and you are expected to work quite a few week-ends.
The tasks are quite varied and include:
Making customers feel welcome and answer their questions
Taking bookings for the kayak school face to face and on the phone
Private sales face to face in the shop and on the phone
Processing payment of various kinds
Carrying boats to the beach
Stocking, pricing and displaying the merchandise
Opening and locking up the shop and maintaining the tidiness of the premises
Packing and sending mail orders when necessary
We are looking for a sea kayaker, who is honest and trustworthy, is organised, has a positive, can-do attitude, and who lives in the Oban area already or is prepared to move.
It would be great if you had a driving licence and experience driving a van & trailer.
Previous retail or admin experience a plus but not necessary. We will give you thorough product training.
