We are happy to announce that Peak UK's new shoulder-entry One Piece Suit  is in stock. Several years ago Peak introduced their unique leg-entry system, with the Explorer and Creek (now Whitewater), which has been copied but never bettered!  They are hard-wearing and we have been using them in National Kayak School since 2009.  The new   Adventure   suit now offers an alternative to the leg-entry, with a fully waterproof, flexible and curved Tizip 5mm shoulder-entry zip.

We are a specialist sea kayak school and sea kayak shop located in the town centre of Oban, on the west coast of Scotland.
It’s a great place to be and every week we meet scores of really nice people who want to talk about their hobby or who want to take up sea kayaking.

We are looking for a sea kayaker to join the team in the shop, full-time or part-time, and to help us with the sea kayak school bookings and rentals from April/May to September.

The new Peak UK Ocean Bothy and the well-established Kokatat Storm Cag are designed to be pulled over your cag and buoyancy aid when emergency clothing is needed, and allow access to your buoyancy aid pockets.

They are equally at home when setting up camp in wet or windy conditions, or just chilling out in exposed spots.
Both are in stock and available to buy online or in person our shop in Oban.

A huge thanks to everyone who came to try our boats or offer support on the shore.
The demo day was a big success with about 40 people trying out over 20 different sea kayaks and surf skis.
Many thanks to Mike Sunderland  Simon McElroy for their help organising, loading and taking picture, and Geoff Pardoe for the use of the Killington Lake Sailing Club facilities.
The weather was perfect with just enough wind to make testing realistic, no rain and some sun.

"The north west of Scotland is quite simply the best place to paddle a sea kayak in the world." - Gordon Brown.

On the north west coast of Scotland and around Skye there are islands galore, hidden beaches, tide races, great places to enjoy the local seafood and amazing people to meet. All of this set within a fantastic, variable culture of Norse and Gaelic influence that go to make this an area you will return to time and again. Ardnamurchan Point to Cape Wrath, the names of the headlands at either end of the area contained within these pages, even have their own section in the weather forecast.

Fifty great voyages are described in a way that is both inspirational and informative. Details of launching and landing sites, tides and potential hazards are provided and the coast is described in exquisite detail. This means that it can also be used as a kayaker's 'pilot' for any journey they might wish to undertake in this area. It follows the successful format of other Pesda Press sea kayaking guides, presenting the information in a user-friendly fashion and making good use of maps and colour photographs.

Doug Cooper has wored at Scotland's National Outdoor Training Centre, Glenmore Lodge, as a Level 5 Coach in Sea and White Water. When not out on the water, Doug can be found in the mountains at work as a Mountain and Ski Instructor or at play in search of new crags or fresh powder tracks. He has sea kayaked extensively around the world and has always got a new destination and adventure planned. Doug is the author of several other books published by Pesda Press.

This title has not yet been released.

This is a great sea kayak guide released just in time for Christmas.

Over 285 pages of stunning photos, detailed maps and informative text in English, this is the first comprehensive sea kayak guide to the Lofoten Islands in Norway.
With multi-day trips and day trips, this book has something for everybody. Combined with some inspiring photos we hope it will encourage paddlers to visit this amazing place.

BCU 5-Star Leader Jann Engstad, native of the Lofoten Islands, is the author.
His knowledge of the Islands, history and environment has no equal.  We met a few years ago when we rented sea kayaks from this company www.lofoten-aktiv.no  and paddled off between the mystical islands in the midnight sun (and lost count of the sea eagles we spotted! )

Foreword by contributing editor Olly Sanders, paddler extraordinaire.
